What will OpenAI cost?

Frequently asked questions
Does LearnResponse grade learners?
No. Feedback is formative only. Completion requirements are based on participation, not on the AI’s assessment.
Do I need my own OpenAI API key?
Yes. You add your own OpenAI API key in the plugin settings, and your site pays OpenAI directly for usage. For most activities that’s about $1 per 1,000 learner responses with the default model. See the cost chart above.
Do I need LearnDash?
No. LearnResponse works on any WordPress page. LearnDash is only needed for lesson completion requirements and course/lesson tracking.
What data is sent to OpenAI?
The question, your hidden feedback directions and the learner’s response. LearnResponse never receives this text. The plugin includes notices reminding learners not to include names or identifying details.
What happens when my license expires?
The plugin keeps working, but you stop receiving updates and support until you renew. Plans renew automatically each year unless you cancel.
Can I move my license to a new site?
Yes. Deactivate the license on the old site under LearnResponse → License, then activate it on the new one.
